I started cutting new puzzles along with our son, Conrad, in 1990. Almost immediately, he was cutting top quality puzzles and it became obvious that I could cut the rest of my life and never make a puzzle as well as Conrad was already producing. It was then that I turned to buying and restoring old puzzles with the encouragement of Anne Williams, Lewiston, ME. Our oldest son, Scott, has also tried his hand at cutting puzzles as Christmas gifts for friends and family. And Meike Nixdord, one of Hildegard's German nieces, spent considerable time learning to cut puzzles during a visit here. Finally, Mijen and Grace, two of our grandchildren, have cut puzzles during one Christmas vacation. We encourage any visitor to our house to try their hand: it is not difficult to cut a puzzle, just very difficult (at least for me) to cut a high quality puzzle!
