Well cut Interlox puzzle from Madmar Qualtity Co. Interlocking with a more interesting long/round cutting style employed by Madmar in the early1930's. Lovely thatched cottage scene but the artist's signature is difficult to read. Last name appears to be "Knight" and a leading British painter of that era was Dame Laura Knight but her work displayed did not contain any thatched cottage scenes. Dame Laura Knight, (1877-1970) DBE RA RWS was an English artist who worked in oils, watercolors, etching, engraving and drypoint. However, a web brower thinks the artist may be Louis Aston Knight who seems to have a similar style to this and definitely does little cottages, I fervently wish artists signed their paintings with legible signatures! No repairs needed.
