Part of our Galleon ship collection.  Presumably depicts the voyage to the new world of Christopher Columbus with the Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria. Artist: J.L.G. Ferris (1863-1930) who was Jean Leon Gerome Ferris, an American painter best known for his series of 78 scenes from American history, entitled The Pageant of a Nation, the largest series of American historical paintings by a single artist. Wikipedia.
