Clearly a Par puzzle with Par's 2 seahorses, "LGA" monogram of intended owner, mahogany back, 24 Par figure pieces, Par wood and cutting style (earlet). Yet packed into a Stave puzzle box and label. Even the title on the Stave label ("Village Feast") is appropriate. I happen to have a Par with the same scene and cut but in a replacement Par box (original lost) to make the comparison. This is a challenging but interesting puzzle to assemble with all the activity in the scene. Art date is 1951; artist is Miguel García Vivancos (1895 – 1972), a Spanish Naïve painter and anarchist.
