Rubbing It--In

Wonderful, colorful image selected by Isabel Ayer, Boston, MA to make this puzzle.  Non-interlocking, cut along color lines.  Unknown artist but image shows up on Google from a Chinese website for a "quilt block" (whatever that is).  You quilters would know.  Image very unusual showing 2 girls "subduing" a boy in a snowball fight.  Should this puzzle be included in my "unusual women" special collection?  Image, cutting style and solid wood would suggest puzzle was cut closer to 1909 but 36 Bromfield address on box dates it in 1920's.
