Box which holds assembled puzzle on raised cardboard platform is very similar to the mottled orange/brown boxes of Arteno Co. Cutting style is also similar. Artist is Yeend King (frequently with"John Henry" added to his name), a British painter (1855-1924). No repairs needed.
