Made by Boston Magazine Exchange as a Red Top Picture Puzzle, 109 Mountfort St, Boston, MA, plywood, non-interlocking, cut extensively along color lines. Artist, Jessie Wilcox Smith, well known for her appealing human-interest artwork. While cut c.1920. in the style of the 1909 era, it is the precursor of a line of puzzles made in the same shops which developed into the intricate Arteno style of the 1930's.
