Made in 1993 by J.C. Ayer & Co, Salem, MA, plywood, interlocking, 19 figure pieces. What makes this puzzle different is that it was cut by a water jet, a process perfected by Jim Ayer, the owner, over several years. Because a water jet can cut in any direction at any moment, Ayer puzzles are more intricately cut, especially the figure pieces, and tighter fitting than almost all scroll saw cut puzzles.
