Description:
Cut in 1982 by Stave Puzzles, Norwich, VT, this puzzle is an early example of use of figure pieces to form a rebus. A rebus is a series of carefully selected and cut figure pieces which, if properly "read" together, will form a word, phrase or expression. Here, the rebus is cut within a square section and set out to the puzzle's left. The 4 figure pieces are removed and form a bug, the letter "e", a pear and the letters "ade". Together, they read "bug-e pear-ade" or "buggy parade" which aptly describes the puzzle scene!
