Artist is Maxfield Parrish, one of the "hottest" artists today; puzzle is No. 2 of four Parrish puzzles in Jig of Jigs series produced and distributed by American News Co. and its branches in the 1930's. Several brands of die cut cardboard puzzles were distributed through news stands on a weekly basis in 1932-33, and along with newspapers, provided cheap entertainment for many Americans during the Great Depression.
