The Optimist

Behind the scenes at the Vaudeville may be more interesting than the show itself as an aging lecherous clown tries to win favor with a pretty young dancer.  Unknown maker, 1930's, plywood, interlocking.  Note the 1 large complex circle figure piece in the center framing the action which, unfortunately rotated slightly when I was setting up the picture and is "askew".   Circle figure pieces often do this in puzzles. Artist: Higgins.
