In the Garden

A few 1930's puzzle makers carried on the 1909 era tradition of extensive color line cutting and “push-fit” (i.e., non-interlocking) puzzles. Here we have a beautiful garden scene by artist, Lion Doyz, which A.D. Fogerty & Co, Worcester, MA cut as #217 in their Soil Proof series from plywood, interlocking only as to edge, non-interlocking throughout the center, with extensive color line cutting. The interlocking border helps keep the puzzle together while assembling the “push-fit” center.
