Description:
Very unusual U-Nit puzzle made by James Browning, E. Orange, NJ 1940 c. Plywood, interlocking with 72 figure pieces, of which 38 spell out "Geo L Hartford Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co" in the sky, a form of personalization seen in few U-Nit puzzles. Unfortunately, some previous owner got the "bright idea" of outlining the words with black crayon! I have erased as much of this as possible and touched up the area so, hopefully, the puzzle now "looks good". Browning also employed a very subtle form of irregular edges-knobs along the edges which will challenge any assembler focusing on putting together the border first.
