Recital

Well cut puzzle made by Joseph Straus, Brooklyn, NY in 1950's for F.A.O. Schwartz, NYC, as Special Cut puzzle #951.  Interlocking, long round knob style with 15 figure pieces.  Artist is Ettore Simonetti (1857, Rome - 1909, Rome), an Italian painter and watercolorist, who specialized in Orientalist works and historical genre scenes. Hard to believe women dressed in the elaborate, tight around the waist gowns of that era could actually sing!  No repairs needed.
