Description:
We had a terrible time assembling this puzzle and left it unfinished at our Maine house where our youngest son, Conrad, and his friends who live in Boston finished it. Even using a map didn't particularly help because our map was of today's Boston, not the Boston of the 1930's as shown in this pictorial map. A Picture Puzzle Exchange puzzle made by Isabel Ayer late in her long career (1908-1940's). Plywood, non-interlocking, cut along color lines. Richard Lufkin was the cartographer. Because most of Miss Ayer's long career occurred before 1930 and she always cut in the pattern of the 1909 era puzzles, I have placed this puzzle in the 1900-1930 period. The replacement piece was not easy to color!
