Description:
W.M. Jigsaw puzzle #47 made by Walter Moberg of Minneapolis, MN. Plywood, interlocking with 18 figure pieces. Classic WW I propaganda poster, totally unrealistic as troops coming ashore bunched up as shown would be massacred. My father served, in action, in WW I (France) and WW II (N. Africa, Sicily, Italy) and told a very different story as his unit had to land on beachheads in all 3 in WW II. Italy was the toughest; Churchill's description of Italy as the "soft underbelly of Europe" could not have been farther from the truth. Box includes lending library instructions re puzzle return, missing pieces, and assembly.
