Description:
Charles Russell was a cutter in the central Massachusetts area from the 1930's through the 70's. He cut many puzzles on commission for our family during the mid-70's. This print was his idea; he liked the scene so much that he gave us a big discount (final price: $25!) Russell's style was to cut along color lines in the picture but with knobs to achieve a truly interlocking puzzle, while also cutting freehand numerous simple figure pieces. This puzzle has been a family favorite. We especially like the "bear" theme, and developed a "wild bear" special collection. Artist is Walter Haskel Hinton.
