A larger (900 pcs.), challenging Par but very doable with the distinct color areas. A lot of fun to work, although I would not allow young children at it. Par time: 7:20. Interlocking, semi color line cutting, irregular edges on all 4 sides, 33 figure pieces including 2 seahorses (Par's signature pieces). Also 2 stenciled seahorses and the intended first owner's monogram, KIT, created by Par just for that owner whose name is now lost in history. A very colorful Par. No repairs needed. Ignore the note tucked under the upper left corner. Our mistake not removing it before picture taken. We are definitely not a "professional operation"!
Artist is F. Leger. Joseph Fernand Henri Léger was a French painter, sculptor, and filmmaker. In his early works he created a personal form of cubism which he gradually modified into a more figurative, populist style. His boldly simplified treatment of modern subject matter has caused him to be regarded as a forerunner of pop art. Wikipedia
Anne Williams reports puzzle is definitely in the wrong box. Correct title is "King of Hearts".. She has seen several copies of it including one in a feature on Par in a 1954 issue of This Week magazine. The copies in her records all have 825 to 925 pieces, not 1025 pieces on the box label for this puzzle. I counted the pieces and came up with @900, just as Anne expected.
