Original box destroyed by a family dog. Puzzle is one in a series of four puzzles issued by Tuck & Sons to raise money for a hospital ship to serve the native peoples of Labrador and Greenland. All four in series are displayed on my website with history compiled by Anne Williams. Look in 1930/40 Armstrong collection indexed by maker. Figure pieces represent things which would be found in our polar regions (including penguins found only in the Antarctic).
