Lovely scene by Robert Fox and cut into this puzzle by Rollo Purrington, Northampton, MA in the 1930's. Plywood, interlocking, 8 figure pieces.  Per Artnet, Robert Fox (1860–1935) was an American-Canadian illustrator and naturalist painter, best known for his paintings of rural subjects, especially cattle in pastures.  I believe Robert is also known as R. (Robert) Atkinson Fox who became quite famous in his lifetime and beyond,   The style of the painting certainly supports this.
