Blowing Bubbles

The artwork of Frances Tipton Hunter often appears in jigsaw puzzles, probably because of its human interest appeal. This well known, colorful and detailed picture was cut as a Premier series puzzle by #89 for Milton Bradley Co, Springfield, MA in the 1930's with 21 figure pieces and color line cutting, and is a delight to assemble with children. Milton Bradley has been producing jigsaw puzzles since the late 1860's and continues right up to today as a division of Hasbro Co. Over the years it has produced cardboard and wood versions of adult and children’s puzzles, but its production of hand-cut wood puzzles ended in the early 1940's. During the 1930's, its hand-cut series were Premier, Piedmont, Beach and Chevy Chase.
