Joseph Straus Products issued this puzzle in their Dual series #272 (2 sided) in 1960's. Both sides are photos of scenes in California (I think) although there are a number of "river roads" in America. Monterey is clearly along the California coast. Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary is a world-renowned travel destination for abundant wildlife viewing, including many species of large whales and dolphins. There are numerous opportunities to view whales from a safe distance while reducing our impacts. We experienced a whale watching excursion out of Provincetown, Cape Cod this past summer which was a spectacular success spotting 17 "named" hump back whales, 2 of them "breaching" in perfect unison. I was also impressed by how careful the boat captains are to avoid disturbing the whales. The River Road Wine Trail is an association of Monterey County winery tasting rooms, located primarily along the River Road.
