On the Alert Pheasant

Small Pastime puzzle cut by #5, Parker Brothers, Salem, MA 1927.  Plywood interlocking, cut along color lines with 8 figure pieces.  Artist is unknown.  Minor foxing.  Can't tell if that is a wolf or bobcat sneaking up on the pheasant.  Either way , if the snow crust holds, the pheasant's days may be over.  If the snow surface can't hold the attacker, the pheasant should be able to escape.
